Unit prices have declined in the first quarter this year on the US apparel import market. The drop in export prices has however been different depending on product categories and origins, as reflected by our below data. German clothing imports from outside the European Union have further declined in the first quarter this year, whereas shipments to the UK continued rising by contrast amid lower unit prices. Spanish imports have surged, whereas the French market has again retreated. Our 5-year data from first quarter 2011 reflect long-term trends of European Union clothing markets, offering a comprehensive review of the European Union imports per destination. EU Clothing Imports in 1st Quarter 2016: Categories (Quarterly Report)

EU's clothing imports have stagnated in most categories of products in the first quarter this year, due to the continued weakness of the euro and the pound. The European import market has eventually declined in dollar terms from its level five years earlier, as reflected by our report. Statistical tables are published with volume, value and unit value changes in euro and US$ terms, covering 61 and 62 HS chapters (knit and woven clothing).
