Waze App and Caltrans to Share Data

Caltrans closures and other data about road conditions around the state will be shared directly with operators of the Waze navigation app , transportation agency officials announced today. The data will fill any gaps that exist in information already shared through partnerships with the city of Los Angeles and the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, according to Meghan Kelleher of Waze.

Caltrans hedges on replacement of highway guardrails despite manufacturer's fraud

Recently, a second defeat in federal courts appeared to settle any lingering doubts about the safety of the Trinity ET-Plus highway guardrail and impugned the integrity of its manufacturer, Texas-based Trinity Industries. ET-Plus guardrail system, via the Federal Highway Administration, without advising the government of changes in its design.
