Up to 10,000 employees of the Department of Immigration and Border Protection, including the Australian Border Force would be striking from 12.01am to 11.50pm today, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.

As the sale process for Allstream continues, Manitoba Telecom Services Inc.'s CEO is also shaking up the company's provincial communications business by trimming its work force and investing in a customer-service overhaul. Jay Forbes, who has been in charge at the Winnipeg-based company since January, says the changes are part of a three-year "transformation" that will include a brand relaunch next year and aims to eventually generate about $100-million in additional free cash flow per year.
