If you dont know us yet, we are an engineering and technological innovation company working on several areas, including the space sector, where we lead projects in flight segment activities, satellite navigation, ground segment, data processing or space robotics among many others. We are looking for a highly motivated AEROSPACE ENGINEER for its activities in the areas of Space Surveillance and Tracking SST and Space Traffic Management STM, including RD tasks, software development and related engineering and analysis activities. SST and STM are becoming a more and more relevant topic in the space sector due to the need to manage the traffic of the population of objects orbiting the Earth, both space debris and operational satellites, which is growing currently and is expected to increase even more dramatically due to the launch of megaconstellations. You would be integrated into GMVs SSA multidisciplinary team located across several countries, with several projects currently ongoing. In particular, you will join the team taking care of SST activities at European level and in Portugal, both for the development of SST system and the execution of studies. The concrete tasks to be performed will mostly focus on engineering activities with a strong relation with orbital mechanics, including orbit determination, collision avoidance, and SST studies. These tasks would alow you to improve your knowhow on how systems are engineered in the space sector and in SST and STM in particular understand the risks posed by space debris on satellites gain handson experience in the operation of complex ground systems for space applications work in a very dynamic environment surrounded by highly skilled and motivated engineers be involved in the daily operations of satellites, ranging from the orbit determination of space debris objects to the analysis of potential collision avoidance manoeuvres and collision avoidance manoeuvres DO YOU WANT TO BE PART OF OUR TEAM? Project Manager Space Surveillance and Tracking SST

Responsible to the Head of SSA Unit to support the implementation of Capability Development activities and projects at the EU SatCen specifically in the SSA area Manage operational activities related with the provision of SST services e.g. satellite conjunction alerts, inorbit fragmentations, reentry of space objects, in the scope of the EU SST Support Framework. Contribute to SST Projects activities e.g. SSASST User requirements gathering, analysis and reporting, as to support the development of SSASST software, including the EU SST Service Provision Portal, liaising with external and internal stakeholders as required. Compilation of reports e.g. technical notes, articles related with SSASST high interest events and with the activities of the EU SatCen in the SSASST field. Management of staff as needed. Space Situational Awareness SSA activities, and in particular Space Surveillance and Tracking SST, aim to protect space infrastructure, facilities and services, which are essential for the safety and security of the economies, societies and citizens in Europe. Due to the growing complexity of the orbital environment, spacebased assets are increasingly at risk from collision with other operational spacecraft or debris. At the same time, objects may reenter and cause damage on the ground. Since 2016 the SST Consortium and the European Union Satellite Centre have been working together to develop a European SST capability in a series of EUfunded projects, known as EUSST. In such activity SatCen acts as an interface between Member States and SST Users, providing the necessary tools for the provision of SST services, and supporting as well the user engagement through a series of actions e.g. feedback campaigns, webinars, workshops. In addition, SatCen is also responsible for the DisseminationCommunication and KPIs activities. Such activities are supported by a series of projects lines 1SST 23SST funded by different mechanisms Galileo, Copernicus, H2020. Such projects have different activities associated which are assessed by mean of related deliverables mainly documents containing project outputsresults and other forms of reporting e.g. review meetings to varied internal and external stakeholders e.g. the European Commission. JOB DESCRIPTION The SST Project Manager reports to the Head of SSA Unit and is responsible for Supporting 1SST and 23SST projects coordination e.g. schedule, financial control and reporting Prepare 1SST and 23SST projects deliverables e.g. reports, coordinating the collection of inputs, harmonising and redacting final versions Support the execution of the SST project activities, including the ones related with user engagement and communication activities e.g. webinarsworkshops organisation, definition and update of websites, and dissemination material. Support the organisation and participate to related project meetings e.g. preparing and sending invitations, agenda, presentations, briefingreporting activities, taking minutes.
