RHEA Group is currently recruiting an EGNOS Ground and Operations Security Engineer to support the Head of the GNSS Ground Segment Security, Site accreditation and Security Operations Unit at our clients premises in Toulouse, France. Note that the duration of this assignment is 4 months. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Guidance and monitoring of the implementation of System Security Requirements by the EGNOS prime contractors, Follow up of the implementation of these requirements within the Segment design down to element level, Selection of evaluated secure element when COTS are selected or the follow up of the secure element evaluation during its development e.g. Common Criteria, Interaction with the Segment Prime contractors and its subcontractors for what concern security implementation, Site security measures, their definition and their implementation within the EGNOS Sites, Secure operations, the definition of the EGNOS SECOPS and the follow up of their implementation within EGNOS, Definition of the security operational measures in support to the security risk treatment required to cover identified security risk. Support to the Mission Security Engineering Board, Support to the EGNOS Security Accreditation Panel. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory You have a University degree or equivalent qualification together with experience in security risk analysis You have a consolidated experience in security architecture You have experience in penetration testing activities You have experience in System and Security Engineering You have experience in Satellite Navigation You are fluent in English, both in speech and writing, with excellent communication, reporting and presentation skills You have or are eligible for personal security clearance from your national security authority The following skills would be highly desirable You have experience dealing with security components and environments You are willing to travel within Europe You are able to multitask efficiently working on multiple activities, multiple subsystems and if applicable multiple missions simultaneously How to Apply Looking to take your career to the next level? We are currently looking for a EGNOS Sites Engineer to work in the beautiful city of Toulouse. The European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service EGNOS is Europes regional satellitebased augmentation system SBAS that is used to improve the performance of global navigation satellite systems GNSSs, such as GPS and Galileo. It has been deployed to provide safety of life navigation services to aviation, maritime and landbased users over most of Europe. EGNOS improves the accuracy and reliability of GNSS positioning information, while also providing a crucial integrity message regarding the continuity and availability of a signal. In addition, EGNOS also transmits an extremely accurate universal time signal. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Hosting Sites surveys technical management including Infrastructure, RF, network surveys Support to the procurement of the Hosting Site survey Specific Contract Technical followup of the Hosting Site Survey Specific Contracts, including regular onsite missions and report evaluation Technical followup of complementary Hosting Site surveys performed by Industry Prime Coordination with EGNOS Hosting entities to prepare surveys in the best location Coordination with EGNOS Service provider to minimize the impact on EGNOS V2 operational system Coordination with ESA when need be Follow up of Hosting Sites upgrades technical management upgrades of existing sites and new sites Definition of the necessary Hosting sites upgrades based on the Hosting sites surveys recommendations Civil works, network, etc... for existing sites Support to the procurement of Hosting entities services civil work and initial operations Followup of Hosting Sites upgrades activities and development of the new sites Coordination with ESA and Industry Prime for the preparation of the Hosting sites and deployment activities Coordination with EGNOS Service provider and Hosting entities to minimise the impact on EGNOS V2 operational system Participation to Sites Acceptance process Support to the definition of security related activities Follow up of participation to the definition of site related activities for the transition EGNOS V2 to EGNOS V3 and EGNOS V3 Service provision Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory Masters Degree in the relevant discipline. At least 5 years of experience in Hosting Sites management procurement, infrastructure, RF andor network surveys Fluency in English Organised, dynamic and proactive Security clearance EU Secret will be necessary but is not mandatory to start the activities Previous EGNOS experience is an asset How to Apply Looking to take your career to the next level? GSA AND EGNOS SERVICES DEPARTMENT The European GNSS Agency GSA announces a traineeship opportunity for European students and recent graduates. The GSA is responsible for the operations and service provision of the European Global Navigation Satellite Systems GNSS EGNOS and Galileo. The European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service EGNOS is Europes regional satellitebased augmentation system SBAS that is used to improve the performance of global navigation satellite systems, such as GPS and Galileo. It has been deployed to provide safety of life navigation services to aviation, maritime and landbased users over most of Europe. In addition to geostationary satellites, the EGNOS infrastructure is composed of uplink stations, processors, reference stations, control centres and support facilities, within Europe and nearby. TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Applications for Toulouse Contribute to followup activities of EGNOS operations and maintenance in general and contribute to the System obsolescence assessment in particular Contribute to review the EGNOS service provision performance in general and to track performance against the GSAs Key Performance Indicators in particular Applications for Prague Contribute to the understanding of user requirements in using EGNOS for new transport modes or applications with the objective to improve EGNOS services or develop new ones Contribute to the definition of technical feasibility studies that assess how user requirements can be implemented and to validation activities that ensure that the service developed meets user requirements Support the team activities, notably for the preparation of meetings with industrial contractors, the management of technical documentation and the interface with EGNOS stakeholders ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA The traineeship is open to applicants who have not previously undertaken a traineeship at the GSA and who meet the following requirements Have a nationality of any Member State of the European Union or Norway Possess or pursue a recognised higher education degree university education or equivalent, evidencing completion of a full cycle of study, or in the case of candidates who are at the end of their studies, an official attestation from their university or school stating the marks obtained Have an initial experience or specific expertise in one of the areas of work of the Agency obtained either through specialisation as part of the applicants studies for a university degree, a dissertation or other research project conducted as part of their studies or through professional experience or a previous traineeship Possess a thorough knowledge of one official language of the European Union and a satisfactory knowledge of another language of the European Union one of these languages must be the working language of the Agency English Have a clean criminal record SELECTION CRITERIA The applications will be assessed against the following criteria Education or work experience in the area of satellite navigation systems or service engineering Knowledge of the principles of system engineering Experience of multicultural environments, ideally through previous work experience or study abroad Effective communication skills, including the ability to summarise information Structured approach in solving problems Good organisation skills Proactive attitude to carry out tasks towards their completion APPLICATION PROCEDURE In order to be considered for this position, candidates need to create an account by registering via the GSA erecruitment tool.
