EEOC Sues Coca-Cola Bottling Of Mobile for Sex Discrimination

Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Mobile, a manufacturer, bottler and distributor of soft drink products violated federal law by discriminating against a job applicant on the basis of sex, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission charged in a lawsuit filed on Sept. 30. EEOC's suit alleged that Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Mobile, owned and operated by Coca-Cola Bottling Company Consolidated, and CC Beverage Packing, Inc. refused to hire Martina Owes, an applicant for two vacant warehouse positions, because she is female.

Glatfelter sued by EEOC for alleged disability discrimination

Glatfelter is facing a lawsuit from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, alleging the York-based paper manufacturer broke federal law at its Spring Grove facility by using an overly broad standard to determine whether people who apply for positions operating forklifts, lift trucks and similar industrial trucks are physically capable of doing the job. The company also required applicants for such positions to undergo a physical exam, something forklift operators at the company's facility in Chillicothe, Ohio, aren't required to do, the EEOC alleged in its lawsuit, filed Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Harrisburg.

Trucking Company Agrees to Settle EEOC Sex and Age Discrimination Case Involving a Strength Exam

Central Refrigerated Service has agreed to settle a sex and age discrimination charge filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission , the federal agency announced today. The Utah-based trucking company was acquired by Swift Transportation in 2013.

Nestl Waters North America , a Stamford, Conn.-based division of Nestl Waters, the world's largest bottled water company, violated federal anti-discrimination law when it refused to promote a highly qualified female employee and then laid her off because of her gender, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission charged in a lawsuit filed Sept. 21, 2015.
