The global public cloud computing market will grow 18.5 percent in 2013 to $131 billion, up from $111 billion last year, research firm Gartner predicts. Through the next three years, cloud spending is predicted to total $677 billion, with almost half of that spending made up of cloud advertising.

The global market for BI (business intelligence) software will hit $13.8 billion in 2013, but the pace of growth will be slower than in past years, according to new figures from analyst firm Gartner. This year, BI market spending will rise by 7 percent, compared to a 16 percent uptick in 2011, Gartner said. Total spending will rise to $17.1 billion by 2016, the report adds.
