Orange Spain adds Amazon Prime Video to its Android TV set-top

Orange Spain has reached an agreement with Amazon that has enabled it to to integrate the Prime Video app into its Android TV based 4K HDR decoder. As a result, Orange TV customers will have easy access directly on their box to Prime Video content.

Orange and Vodafone sign expanded network sharing deal in Spain, including 5G

(Telecompaper) Orange and Vodafone have signed a newly-expanded network sharing agreement in Spain that encompasses fixed and mobile networks, including 5G infrastructure. The announcement confirms recent reports and comes after Vodafone reached similar 5G active network sharing deals with Telecom Italia and Telefonica UK (O2) earlier this year. In separate statements, Vodafone and Orange said the agreement is designed to strengthen previous deals covering passive infrastructure nationwide and active infrastructure in smaller towns and to enable the faster rollout of 5G over a wider geographic area.

Vodafone, Orange to share 5G networks in Spain

Vodafone has extended its Spanish network-sharing agreement with Orange to include, amongst other things, joint use of 5G sites. The new deal builds on a long-standing arrangement between the two telcos. Spain claims biggest FTTH network in Europe with over 77% of homes passed

(Telecompaper) Spain's Ministry of Economy has published its latest annual report on broadband coverage in the country. This shows that access to at least 100 Mbps improved by 5 percent points in the year to June 2018, to 81 percent of the population, while 85 percent have access to at least 30 Mbps. The government aims to increase these rates to respectively 89 percent and 98 percent by 2020 with the help of its ongoing subsidy programmes.
