LEO Spacecraft Operations Engineer 1613111 Job Description We are looking for a LEO Spacecraft Operations Engineer for our client EUMETSAT. You will be part of the Operations and Services to Users Department as a member of the Metop Spacecraft Operations Team. Some of your key tasks will include Support to the routine operations of Metop A, B Provision of operational expertise to platform subsystems andor payload instruments andor onboard software management, satellite simulator and ground segment operations interfaces Maintain the corresponding operations documentation and flight procedures, including the update and operational validation of procedures releases in a configuration controlled environment Perform trending and performance analysis on the corresponding subsystems and instruments, including definition of additional automated analysis and checks where necessary Investigations into satellite anomalies. This may require a close cooperation with the Operations Support Entity in ESA and Industry Participation in the satellite oncall support rota Support the definition and eventual execution of MetopA inorbit technology testing and endoflife operations. Support to the operations preparation and early operations of MetopC Update, verify and validate the subsystem or instrument procedures and associated operational documentation for MetopC, including support to Satellite System Validation Tests and other Ground Segment Validation Testing Participate in MetopC Satellite InOrbit Verification Testing Support to the system and operations preparation of Metop Second Generation satellites Provide inputs and or review the definition of system and satellite operational concepts Review space to ground interface specifications and flight operations manuals Support the definition of tools and processes required to prepare for and operate the satellites Support to the system and operations preparation of other LEO satellites Provide operations preparation support as required to the JasonCS Sentinel6 development. Required Skills and Experience A University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline Demonstrated experience in at least two of the following mandatory skills Spacecraft monitor and control operations Spacecraft operations preparation engineering Low Earth Orbit spacecraft design or Assembly Integration and Test activities at system or subsystem level. Europes Meteorological Satellite Organisation EUMETSAT is seeking a Mission Operations Facility Engineer looking to utilise and develop their existing knowledge and experience in an international environment. The key candidate shall be responsible for all engineering activities associated with the procurement and testing of the Mission Operations Facility and supporting its integration into the MTG Ground Segment, under the supervision of the MTG Mission Operations Facility Manager. Candidates require the following skillsexperience Solid experience with design, development and maintenance of satellite mission operations systems. Demonstrated experience in the management of industrial contracts preferably in the field of mission operations systems. Extensive experience in development or maintenance of Mission Control software using SCOS2000 Proficiency and experience in the use of relevant standards such as CCSDS and ECSS Strength in analysis, synthesis and presentations of complex problems and solutions Familiarity with mission operations systems in a 247 operational environment. Knowledgeexperience in any of the following areas would be considered advantageous Familiarity with satellite simulators Experience in the development or maintenance of other relevant software e.g Flight Dynamics, Mission Planning software, automation software Experience in full ground segment lifecycle support, including launch and commissioning preparations.
