We are currently looking for a Earth Observation Spacecraft Operations Engineer Sentinel Start date September 15th, 2016 Key tasks and responsibilities The primary area of responsibility for the Spacecraft Operations Engineer SOE is to support the Sentinel5P Spacecraft Operations Manager SOM in the preparation, implementation and execution of the LEOP and Commissioning phases, mainly in the areas of platform subsystems and Mission Planning, but extended to other areas as required. The SOE position includes the following responsibilities Support the SOM in the validation of the FOP in the volumes indicated by the SOM Support the SOM in FOS integration and tests Review of satellite documents LEOP and Commissioning operations support as required Required skills Adequate experience in spacecraft Flight Operations knowledge, including FDIR, the platform and overall view of the Spacecraft systems engineering Adequate experience with Packet Utilisation Standard Adequate experience in working in an operational environment Adequate experience with flight procedures life cycle, including validation Basic experience with anomaly investigations Ability to understand and accurately predict behaviour of complex systems Experience with LEO satellites operations, including experience in preparatory phase OPSPREP, special operations LEOP, Deorbiting campaign and preoperational phase Commissioning specially within the Sentinels missions Wellorganized, able to prioritise and manage several activities in parallel Fluency in English, both in speech and writing Some experience with operational simulators, ideally SimSat Some experience with satellite control systems, ideally SCOS2000 Some knowledge of Earth Observations missions, in particular with Copernicus Sentinels Adequate experience using TMTC databases, preferably SCOS2000 compatible This job is located in DarmstadtESOC. The primary area of responsibility for this service is the provision of EGNOS Ground and Operations Security Engineering service within the GNSS Ground Segment Security section. The support will be provided to the Head of the GNSS Ground Segment Security, Site accreditation and Security Operations Unit. This is an opportunity for an experienced System and Security Engineer to work on customer site in the EGNOS Project Office, CNES, Toulouse, France. The position is unlimited and fulltime and will start in October 2016. Submission deadline for interested candidates is 7th of September 2016. ResponsibilitiesDuties The tasks associated to this service will include EGNOS V2 and V3 activities related to guidance and monitoring of the implementation of System Security Requirements by the EGNOS prime contractors, the follow up of the implementation of these requirements within the Segment design down to element level, the selection of evaluated secure element when COTS are selected or the follow up of the secure element evaluation during its development e.g. Common Criteria, interaction with the Segment Prime contractors and its subcontractors for what concern security implementation, site security measures, their definition and their implementation within the EGNOS Sites, secure operations, the definition of the EGNOS SECOPS and the follow up of their implementation within EGNOS, the definition of the security operational measures in support to the security risk treatment required to cover identified security risk. the support to the Mission Security Engineering Board, the support to the EGNOS Security Accreditation Panel The engineer shall work closely with the EGNOS System Security Accreditation engineer and the EGNOS System Security Design Engineer colocated in Toulouse but as well with the GNSS Security team located at ESTEC. QualificationsExperience University degree or equivalent qualification together with experience in security risk analysis Consolidated experience in security architecture Experience in penetration testing activities Essential Skills Experience in System and Security Engineering Satellite Navigation Fluency in English, both in speech and writing, with excellent communication, reporting and presentation skills Desirable Skills Experience in dealing with security components and environments Capability for travelling within Europe The ability to multitask efficiently working on multiple activities, multiple subsystems and if applicable multiple missions simultaneously.
