CEO Rodolphe Belmer noted slowing momentum for traditional businesses within the fixed satellite services sector and said the company must adapt its strategic priorities and financial objectives. Belmer said the company's immediate priority will be to maximize the free-cash-flow generation of its core businesses, with the objective of returning to broad top line stability in full year 2017-2018. To achiever this, the company will reduce capex, reshuffle debt, and streamline assets, and then focus on returning to growth.

Eutelsat (Paris: ETL) has confirmed the successful launch of its EUTELSAT 117 West B satellite. The satellite was ferried into space by a Falcon 9 rocket that took off from SpaceXs complex in Cape Canaveral and parked EUTELSAT 117 West B in a supersynchronous orbit.

Eutelsat lowers guidance after weak sales in LatAm

(Telecompaper) Satellite operator Eutelsat said revenues for its third quarter to end March reached EUR 383 million, up 4.2 percent from the year before, or 1.1 percent on a like-for-like basis. The operator said revenue growth came in below expectations, forcing it to lower its guidance and rethink its company-wide growth strategy. Revenues in Q3 reflected a worse than expected environment in several emerging markets, in particular in Latin America, where much of the company's new capacity is targeted, and the spread of tough competitive conditions in Data Services to all markets.
