Then we may have a good news for you as Celestia Antwerp is actively looking for hiring JOB DESCRIPTION The RF Electronics Design Engineer will join the department in charge of the development of satellite communication products which are part of the RF chain linking the ground station Antenna SBand up to KaBand to its Central Control Station. These include equipment covering a wide span of products such as highspeed data receivers used in scientific missions, telecommand and telemetry baseband modems, RF frequency converters and many others. Tasks and Responsibilities He she will take the leadership role in the design and the development of the RF functions implemented in our products and will document the architectural design choices made. He she will execute proactively all necessary simulations and consolidate all results obtained. He she will define the test plans and the procedures to verify the RF board prototypes. He she will join EMC testing sessions at certified laboratory for regulatory certification. He she will support assembly, integration and testing activities. He she might support business development activities in drafting highlevel RF board architecture meeting customer highlevel objectives issued through RFP. He she might participate to conferences and sometimes present technical achievements. Qualifications and Experience Master PhD in Electronics or equivalent through experience. Highly skilled with RF functions mixers, oscillators, filters, hybrids, amplifiers, waveguides, etc. schematics design, PCB layout, testing and boardlevel troubleshooting up to 40 GHz KaBand. Accustomed with RF measurement equipment e.g. scope, spectrum analyzer. Technical leadership. Ability to write technical documentation. Overview Providing technical support to ESA projects in the domain of Field Programmable Gate Array FPGA used in payloads and platforms of ESA missions of any ESA programme Navigation, Science, Earth Observation, Telecommunications, Human space Exploration of Technology. This technical support will involve Supervision of the endtoend development of new FPGAs throughout all development phases specification, architectural design, detailed design, place and route, programming and device tests. Critical review of the technical documentation, design files, hardware test platforms and software used during the different phases of the FPGA developments. Providing technical feedback and advice to ESA and industry mission teams to help achieve successful and ontimebudget new FPGA developments and to solve problems related to already developed FPGAs. Leading andor providing support to research internal in ESTEC Microelectronics Laboratory andor external with Companies contracted by ESA activities in the domain of FPGAs devices and their tool ecosystems for use in space environment. Specific qualification requirements Master degree in Electronics Engineering or Physics, specialised in Microelectronics together with at least 4 years of relevant working experience. Design and test of digital FPGAS specifications, block design, top level integration, design for test, pre and post layout stimulation and timing analysis, gates synthesis, support during layout, prototype test and in system validation, with proficency in HDL VHDL, Verilog and SystemC. VLSI IC Design CAD tools and such as Synopysys, DADENCE, Mentor, Mathlab andor Simuluk. FPGA HW and SW of several vendors such as Xilinix, Microchipformer Microsemi, form ACTEL NanoXplore, Alteraa andor Atmel. Preparation of FPGA testbenches, for functional validation and electrical characterization, using signal generators, oscilloscopes and signal anaylzers. Basic system administration in UNIX and Windows for IC Design CAD tools. Experience with Microprocessors eg. LEON, ARM, RISCV and HWSW codesign. Experience with mitigation of radiation effects andor radiation tests of FPGAs andor ASICs. Experience with digital ASIC design. Knowledge of the Space environment, its effects on microelectronics devices and related technology, as well as ECSS quality standards applied to spacee VLSI ICs. Fluency in English both written and spoken is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. NOTE for candidates with less than 10 years experience, the relevant academic transcripts must be provided in order to give a more complete candidate profile at the selection stage. Legal and Security Requirements All applicants must be legally allowed to work in The Netherlands Applicants are required to provide a copy of their passport and degree certificate.
