We are currently looking for a Cost Engineer to support our customer in the Netherlands. Cost Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the business area Engineering Support to System, Software and InOrbit Demonstration at ESTEC, you will have the following responsibilities Projects data collection, analysis, normalisation and entry into the existing Cost Engineering database Cost models development. This includes cost, schedule and risk aspects Cost Estimates including schedule and cost risk estimates Provision of Cost Estimate reports according to the ESA standards Accountability records consisting in comparing in a structured manner the external estimates and prices versus the internal estimates Benchmarking and calibrating internal and external cost models. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience Master Degree in Engineering, preferably in Aerospace Engineering or related discipline Several years of cost engineering experience, preferably in the aerospace domain Proven experience in gathering and processing reference data cost, programmatic, technical building cost models out of them Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. Times-Picayune: The BP oil disaster cost the Gulf of Mexico's commercial fishing industry $94.7 million to $1.6 billion and anywhere from 740 to 9,315 jobs in the first eight months, according to a new study by the U.S. Bureau of Ocean Energy Management. Ajilon is a longstanding business partner of the European Space Agency ESA, with more than 100 employees recruited from across Europe currently supporting ESAs activities. General tasks to be performed The work covers the provision of standard cost engineering services. This includes Cost Estimating Projects data collection, analysis, normalisation and entry into the existing Cost Engineering database. Cost models development. This includes cost, schedule and risk aspects. Cost Estimates including schedule and cost risk estimates. Provision of Cost Estimate reports according to the ESA standards. Accountability records consisting in comparing in a structured manner the external estimates and prices versus the internal estimates. Benchmarking and calibrating internal and external cost models. For the execution of the above tasks the contractor will be requested to Use related ESA Corporate or Cost Engineering specific software tools, documentations systems, and databases. Interface with the relevant actors within the Directorate, with ESA Programme Directorates and with ESA Corporate Services. To successfully perform the above mentioned tasks, the following background experience is required For the execution of the tasks covered by this Work Package the Contractor shall have adequate skills and experience in the following areas A degree in engineering, preferably related to space. Several years of cost engineering experience, preferably in the aerospace domain. Proven experience in gathering and processing reference data cost, programmatic, technical building cost models out of them Elaborate cost estimates using cost models Elaborate structured and convincing cost reports. Ability to interface effectively with relevant actors at all hierarchical levels. Ability to readily assimilate and coordinate input data and provide timely output. Reliability, rigor and sense of initiative in the execution of the assigned tasks. Ability to understand and adapt to the ESA specific context and environment. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, as well as synthetic and conceptual capabilities Autonomy, initiative and capability to set priorities and handle high workload. Familiarity in the use of standard office automation support software packages such as Word, Excel and of commercial database system e.g. Access, electronic mail and Web based applications. About ESAESTEC The European Space Agency ESA has sites in several European countries. The European Space Research and Technology Centre ESTEC is the largest site and the technical heart of ESA.
