Development Engineer Hardware Design Key Tasks and Responsibilities As Development Engineer for hardware design you will be involved in the development, commissioning and verification of digital and analogue space electronics hardware, including documentation and troubleshooting support. Your responsibilities will include Responsibility for the development of the hardware digital analog RF mixedsignal on module level Development of design specifications Test setup, test conduction and commissioning of modules Troubleshooting on component, module and design level Development of test procedures and test reports Operation of test equipment and measuring instruments Preparation of technical analyses and documents. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University Degree in Electronics or another relevant engineering discipline Several years of professional work experience in engineering and in hardware design Knowledge of software tools such as Spice HyperlLynx, MatLab, LabView and DxDesigner Profound knowledge of digital and analog hardware Knowledge in development, preferably in space electronics design advantageous Familiarity with digitaltoanalog converters ADCDAC Experience in high speed links and complex digital designs An understanding of designtocost, design for manufacturing DFM and design for test DFT considered an asset Fluency in English and German is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. For our Department of Guidance, Navigation and Control Systems at the Institute of Space Systems in Bremen we wish to recruit for the Design, Development, and Verification of Guidance and Control Systems for Space Applications Four Engineers in the Field of Aerospace Engineering, Control Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar Your Mission The Institute of Space Systems in Bremen designs and analyzes future spacecraft and space missions launchers, orbital and exploration systems, and satellites, and assesses them with regard to their technical performance and cost. It applies stateoftheart methods of multidisciplinary engineering in system design and analysis for example, a computerized system for concurrent design. The Guidance, Navigation and Control Systems Department focuses on the capability to analyze, design, develop, implement, simulate, test, and verify attitude and orbit control systems AOCS guidance, navigation, and control GNC systems for space applications and their components. This involves a range of disciplines, including requirements management, systems engineering, algorithm development, software implementation, systems analysissimulationverification, and hardwareintheloop testing. The GNC Systems Department is also conducting research and development of promising and strategic technologies for AOCS and GNC systems. The guidance and control group works within the field of research and development of guidance and control systems for space applications. We thoroughly analyze dynamic systems to synthesize robust and performant guidance and control solutions in order to achieve a highly reliable, controlled system. This encompasses system identification, controller design and trajectory optimization. Our activities range from mathematical problem formulation and modelling to simulation, flight code implementation and software verification and validation in realtime environments The GNC Systems Department is involved as an official partner in the Mission to the Moon of PTScientists, the first European Moon landing mission. The mission objective is to be the first private company to safely land a spacecraft on the Moon, to explore the area around the Apollo 17 landing site with two rovers, and to send pictures and videos down to Earth. In the frame of this project, the GNC Systems Department is leading the development of the GNC subsystem as scientific partner. The work comprises the development of optical navigation technologies, the controller synthesis for descent and soft landing, the optimization of the landing trajectory as well as the comprehensive verification of all associated elements.
