Description The Contractor shall perform the following activities. 1. Secretarial Support to the BSSC Working Group Analysis of the existing set of standards ECSS E and Q branches and any relevant Mission Specific standards e.g. the Specific Galileo SW development standards with respect to security and assurance capabilities Analysis of the secure SW engineering work GASF project done at ESOC and injection of relevant elements into the WG outputs Support to the working group meetings including production of MoMs. 2. Production of the following deliverables of the BSSC Working Group A report and gap analysis on the secure software engineering capabilities of ESA Change requests for existing or new requirements in the ECSS software engineering and product assurance EST40 C and QST80 B standards and other ECSS standards from the E and Q branches as relevant to address security in software engineering ESA Internal Handbook for Secure Software Engineering in support of the implementation of the changed or new requirements. Profile Due to the nature and complexity of the work, the key consultant role must be assigned to one senior staff member. The key consultant may be supported by another Contractor during the work execution. The following proven skills are required Proven experience in software development according to ECSS standards and capability to abstract this experience into formal work with standards Experience with editorship of technical documentation, in particular standards, including capability to formally express technical requirements Excellent knowledge of written British English Familiarity with the ECSS family of standards, in particular those related to software engineering and assurance primarily but not limited to ECSS E and Q branches Knowledge and experience in the domain of information security and in particular in the area of secure software engineering, application security, and software assurance. We are looking to further enhance our team by adding a EPSSG System Engineering support You will be based initially for 2 years at our clients headquarters in Darmstadt, Germany. Extension of a further 2 years may be possible. In this large European Agency you will find an excellent and modern working environment with challenging tasks and responsibilities. Your Tasks Include The activities for this consultancy will cover general system engineering tasks focusing interface aspects. The activity requires one key person for the duration of the consultancy contract. The tasks and responsibilities of the key person to be undertaken during the EPSSG Phase B will typically include the following Coordination and definition of technical interfaces with the external partners and service providers Organisehold meetings and workshops with external and major internal interface partners to establish interface detailsagreements Maintenance of Interface Requirement Documents IRDs for all system interfaces using DOORs. Generation and maintenance of the system Interface Control Documents ICD. Analysis and justification of the system design in the area of interfaces. Provide input to the system design justification document, especially concerning interface aspects. Monitor lower level technical specifications for compliance to system level requirements. Provide support to general system engineering activities o Analysis and trade off activities o Preparation and maintenance of system technical specification o ad hoc internal reviews o system level formal reviews SRR, PDR o Provide support to progress meetings o Support IVV activities These activities will involve interactions with other Client divisions. Travel within Europe, to the United States and possibly other parts of the world may have to be undertaken for certain tasks. The work will be released in individual work packages. Your Profile The key person shall have the following experience and background University degree in the domain of engineering, science, or equivalent. At least 5 years of experience in the field of engineering of space andor ground systems. Experience of large space systems space andor ground segment. Experience of interface management and definition. Familiarity with mechanisms and tools for detailed interface definition. Capability to prepare and manage IRD and ICD. Capability to clearly document a system design and justification The following experience would be additional assets Experience in the area of LowEarth Orbiting satellites LEO. Experience with DOORs The key person shall be able to fulfil the assigned tasks with a minimum of supervision, have a systematic approach to work, be able to plan hisher work and to cope with tight schedules and multiple tasks. Heshe shall have the capability to write accurate and consistent technical documentation. Good communication skills verbal and written are important. Heshe shall be willing to work in a team of engineers and in cooperation with industry and partner agencies. Fluency in English the working language is English..
