Fiber and yarn prices have mostly dropped in the past four weeks in China, India, and Pakistan. Cotton fiber and yarn prices have rebounded in Pakistan, however, with margins improving at spinning mills. The yarn vs. fiber spread had declined elsewhere. EU-27 clothing imports have begun to plunge in April, according to the latest available data, over the difficulties in shipping products to European countries in lockdown. Imports from China have not been more affected than shipments from other parts of the world. Our report covers monthly EU-27 clothing import data per origin, with historical trends being analyzed, and a specific focus on China vs. Rest of World (RoW) and Bangladesh, and on knit vs. woven clothing. Data are supplied in euros and US dollars with historical data available for download, back to January 2002.

US Fracking Set for First Monthly Rise This Year; Permian Leads Recovery

The running rate of frac activity in the Permian has shifted from 15 to 20 wells per week in May and June, to 40 to 45 wells per week in the last three weeks. Last week, week 29, activity was particularly strong with 63 started frac operations based on our preliminary estimates. This level of activity has not been seen in the Permian since early April this year.
