Naspers to spin off internet brands, list NewCo on Euronext Amsterdam

(Telecompaper) Naspers has announced its intention to list NewCo, a new global consumer internet group, on Euronext Amsterdam. NewCo will also have a secondary, inward listing on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) in South Africa. The new group will bring together all of Naspers' internet interests outside of South Africa, including its companies and investments in the online classifieds, food delivery, payments, retail, travel, education, and social and internet platforms sectors, among others. Brands include Tencent, mail.ru, OLX, Avito, letgo, PayU, iFood, Swiggy, DeliveryHero, Udemy, eMAG and MakeMyTrip.

Naspers revenue rises 29% in H1, classified advertising becomes profitable

(Telecompaper) African media and e-commerce firm Naspers said its revenues increased 29 percent to USD 11.0 billion in the first six months to 30 September from USD 9.0 billion in the same period in 2017. Profit grew 34 percent year on year to USD 2.0 billion from USD 1.7 billion in 2017. Core headline earnings grew 39 percent to USD 1.7 billion from USD 1.2 billion in 2017.

Naspers to list pay-TV provider MultiChoice in Johannesburg

(Telecompaper) In recognition of PN's support over the years, Naspers intends to allocate another 5 percent stake in MultiChoice South Africa to PN shareholders at no cost, prior to the unbundling. This would increase the PN shareholders' interest in Multichoice South Africa, and its dividend flows should rise by 25 percent. It would also ensure continued compliance with regulatory requirements after the unbundling.

Naspers sells Allegro Group for USD 2.25 bln

(Telecompaper) South African media company Naspers has sold its 100 percent stake in Poland-based Allegro Group, including both Allegro and Ceneo, to funds advised by private equity firms Cinven, Permira and Mid Europa, for USD 3.253 billion. Naspers said the decision to sell Allegro Group was in line with its strategy to find and unlock value for shareholders.
