Generating Eye Diagrams In VectorStar VNAs

2016-06-01 13:35:34| rfglobalnet Home Page

A VectorStar™ VNA is available with the feature option to calculate an eye diagram representation of what the current RF performance measurement would do to a digital data stream. Generating an eye diagram enables the visualization of any possible data stream signal integrity issues on a given transmission path, and helps to build subsystem simulation results. Since an eye diagram computation is per-trace, a single channel can be configured with frequency domain, time domain impulse response, and TDR-like and eye diagram traces simultaneously, and all responding to the same live data. This application note discusses eye diagram configurations and how to generate them.

Making Differential Measurements With Copper Mountain Technologies VNAs

2016-05-09 17:56:44| rfglobalnet Downloads

Balanced electrical circuits are designed with at least three ports, or more commonly four ports, as is standard for a simple differential transmission line. Many engineers prefer to perform differential measurements with 4-port instruments when characterizing electrical properties such as insertion loss and return loss, and S-parameters such as transmission and the reflection of single-ended, common-mode, and differential-mode signals. This application note gives a brief introduction on balanced and differential circuits and provides a demonstration of such measurements on a common-mode filter through the use of split-ring resonators.

Using VNA's As A Tool For Signal Integrity In High Speed Digital Systems

2016-02-29 10:09:20| rfglobalnet Downloads

Anritsu’s new paper describes the difference in how VNA's and time domain based instruments generate S-parameters and includes the examination of VNA time domain transformations and how they are effected by VNA bandwidth, frequency step size and low frequency S-Parameter quality; s-parameter quality metrics, including indications of measurement issues; channel characterization and measurement frequencies as it applies to bit rates and encoding; andVNA de-embedding and network extraction tools as a way to simplify measurements.

Multi-Port VNAs support options for expanded functionality.

2015-12-02 14:31:06| Industrial Newsroom - All News for Today

With 55–92 GHz E-band option installed, ShockLine™ MS46500B series of 2- and 4-port performance Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs) can efficiently verify performance of high-frequency passive components during manufacturing. Other available options include 20 and 40 GHz, which enable VNAs to address S-parameter and time-domain measurement requirements associated microwave applications. Also, 20 and 40 GHz options add power control, LRL/LRM calibration, and other capabilities.

Anritsu Adds Scalar Transmission Capability to ShockLine USB VNAs

2015-10-07 03:47:07| Telecom - Topix.net

This new option enables scalar measurements to be made between MS46121A VNAs in either a one-to-one or one-to-many configuration, creating a flexible and affordable method of conducting magnitude-only transmission measurements for a wide variety of applications, including manufacturing test and student education. Providing both the and setups in the MS46121A VNAs creates a robust method of performing parallel and multi-port testing of devices under test over four channels.
