Bunge Ltd. swung to a bigger-than-expected profit in its first quarter on a strong performance in its core agribusiness segment and stronger global demand. New York-based Bunge, one of the world's largest traders and processors of agricultural commodities, said earnings in its core agribusiness segment doubled to $506 million.
