This is a permanent position, calling for at least 5 years experience of supporting the management of large, complex programmes. You will be placed on assignment based near Frankfurt in Germany for several years. Candidates should ideally be available to start in November 2015. Our client is responsible for establishing and operating weather forecasting and Earth observation satellite programmes with associated data telemetry and dissemination operations. Vast quantities of data are produced and user communities throughout the world are able to access both current and historical data sets. The demanding realtime environment places much emphasis on adherence to quality and configuration management standards and procedures. The main working language is English and the role will embrace Preparation of annual and quarterly implementation reports including service performance and technical progress, open issues, action status, risk status etc Preparation of annual Work Programmes detailing the set of tasks to be implemented and the associated schedule Preparation of Programme Management Meetings including the preparation of agendas, viewgraphs addressing progress and main issues, recording of the Minutes of Meetings and of associated actions Preparation of elements of progress reports Preparation of Programme Briefings from a management standpoint as well as the organization of dedicated key points Supporting the establishment and maintenance of service level indicators to track and report progress of activities and associated service level performance Maintenance of a Critical Item List Supporting the periodic maintenance of a Programme Management Plan, Management Plan for data services and all associated documents including work practises etc and the Work Breakdown Structure, Product tree and Documentation tree Followingup the progress of internal actions The key experience and attributes sought are At least 5 years project management experience, in service management and service level monitoring and reporting, preferably in Space projects Project Management Prince 2 or equivalent and Project Control including Project planning, initiation, and organisation Software tools for project management Accurate estimating and cost control Project execution and control Developing project presentations and reports Managing risk and making decisions Effective problem management Performance and service management Managing change. Excellent analytical and reporting skills Knowledge and experience of QA processes and procedures Expert in using Microsoft Office software Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project Candidates should possess a University degree or equivalent. Fluency in English is essential and knowledge of French advantageous.
