A vacancy for a Regulatory Affairs and Spectrum Management Engineer mf has arisen within Airbus Defence Space in Toulouse. The successful applicant will join the Satellite Sales support and Innovation team in the Marketing and Sales directorate. Reporting directly to the Head of Space Systems Regulatory Affairs, you will be in charge of defining and promoting the companys regulatory interests in telecommunication as well as Earth observation, Navigation and Science satellite arenas, in particular in the context of WRC World Radio communication ConferenceITU negotiation cycles. Depending on your profileexpectations, you might be involved in satellite coordination and sales support. In this context you will be involved in the following activities Promoting the companys interests for the WRCITU negotiation cycles Developing lobbying strategies to promote the interest of Space Systems throughout the ITUWRC process planning and associated regulatory bodies, in line with the Companys industrial interests Coordinating the Space Systems regulatory strategy with the other business lines and Airbus Defence and Space countries and with the other Airbus Group Divisions Airbus and Airbus Helicopters Developing and defending associated contributions to ITUR and CEPT conferences and study groups Running sharing, regulatory and technical studies to sustain the Space Systems strategy, either directly or with subcontractors Developing regulatory awareness, expertise and recognition of Space Systems in the regulatory arena Providing regulatory added value to Space Systems activities Being the regulatory focal point for Space Systems design, system engineering, new systems and business development, marketing, etc. activities and ensuring their compliance with national and international regulations Proposing and developing regulatory opportunities to support the positioning and growth of Space Systems businesses and products in the Telecom, Earth Observation, Navigation and Science businesses Contributing to the regulatory work packages of inhouse and external studies national space agencies, ESA, EU, etc.. This role will involve frequent travel to France and abroad for short time spans 1 to 10 days, 30 to 90 days total a year and you must be able to travel accordingly. looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Engineering qualification or equivalent 5year degree, 3 years of experience in Regulatory Affairs or Spectrum Management, Experience in the Satellite arena would be a plus, Wellorganised, determined to succeed and at ease in international working groups and negotiations, Communicative team player with an autonomous approach Negotiation level of English. You will work on Spectrum Management and Satellite Coordination for the Space Systems business line previously Astrium of Airbus Defence and Space. You will report directly to the head of Space Systems Regulatory Affairs in the Marketing and Sales direction. MONITORING of SPACE SYSTEMS INTERESTS in the frame of the ITUWRC preparation and other regulatory fora and bodies at national, regional and international levels. Inmarsat has been at the forefront of satellite communications for over 30 years key to its technical and commercial success is the function of spectrum management. With ten operational satellites spanning three generations, and four more scheduled for launch over the next two years, optimising the configuration and deployment of the available resources, and influencing the regulatory landscape to maximise the value to Inmarsat, is a challenging and rewarding job. Inmarsat is seeking to add to its spectrum management team and is open to applications from graduates with some experience in spectrumRF management or recent graduates with a patriculary strong grasp of the subject area, and desire to develop this knowled in a commercially driven environment. Candidates should be very strong on the technical aspects of RF planning, interference studies and their understanding of global spectrum management they will also need to be articulate and persuasive with an appreciation of the regulatory and political factors involved in managing, procuring and defending spectrum usage. Specifically, heshe will be responsible for Spectrum sharing and interference studies with different radio communication services, as required for the development of new Inmarsat services such as the regulatory framework for Earth Stations on Mobile Platforms using Kaband FSS allocations, and for the protection of Inmarsat services from interference from proposed new services and applications such as terrestrial mobile broadband systems.
