Sealed Air Corp. on Thursday morning reported net earnings for its common shareholders of $28.01 million, or 13 cents per diluted share, for the second quarter. That's down from $60.1 million, or 28 cents per share, in the same period a year earlier, but the latest quarter included a nearly $111 million expense on refinancing and payments on debt as well as higher restructuring costs, the company's news release shows .

Yelp shares plunged the most since the company's initial public offering three years ago, losing one-quarter of its value, a day after the customer-review website cut its revenue forecast, said it will stop selling national brand advertising and announced Max Levchin's departure as chairman. Shares of the San Francisco-based company fell 25 percent to $25.06 at the close in New York, the biggest single-day decline ever.

Nintendo swings to first-quarter operating profit; analysts expected loss

Nintendo Co reported a surprise first-quarter operating profit, helped by a weaker yen and strong sales of its "amiibo" figurines which are sold as accessories to their popular games. Nintendo swung to an April-June operating profit of 1.1 billion yen from a loss of 9.5 billion yen a year earlier.
