Position Reference 013 You will have the opportunity to support the Test and Validation for AOCS related processes and products of Science Missions but you may be requested to assume the responsibility and perform activities for additional services, missions and activities within the scope of general Flight Dynamics operations engineering services. The service to be provided are primarily related to JUICE. Services may also be requested related to SOLAR ORBITER, BEPICOLOMBO, EUCLID. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Test and Validation Execution of and support to operational tasks Validation of operational Flight Dynamics data products, such as command parameter sets, reports, event predictions and acquisition data before delivery to FCT and other users Flight Dynamics Application Layer Maintenance of elements of the Flight Dynamics Application Layer Flight Dynamics System Development Specification of modifications, enhancements and additions to existing software elements Implementation of modifications, enhancements and additions to existing software elements Installation of modifications, enhancements and additions to existing software elements on operational platforms design, coordination and implementation of tests Participation in tests Definition and maintenance of procedures Flight Dynamics SubSystem configuration and definition of Test Validation processes Coordination of interfaces and activities across subsystems General Flight Dynamics operations engineering activities Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory You have a University degree in mathematics, physics, a relevant engineering field or astronomy. You have an analytical approach to technical problems to develop and implement engineering solutions. You possess a thorough understanding of fundamental laws and phenomena in mathematics and physics and skill to apply this knowledge. You have very good skills in linear algebra and calculus. You have very good skills in classical mechanics. You have experience in computer programming. You are willing to take operational responsibility in multidiscipline teams. You are fluent in English, both in speech and writing. You coordinate and interact with other service providers in operations and other fields. You are able to work independently. The following skills would be highly desirable You have experience in programming objectoriented languages, preferably C. You have experience with Linux. You have experience in numerical mathematics. You have very good skills in linear algebra, in particular for problem solving related to geometry in the Euclidean 3dimensional space. You are familiar with different representations of rotation in 3D, thus including the representation of SC attitude cosine direction matrix, Euler symmetric parametersquaternions, Eulerangles .... You have good skills in calculus in one or several variables. You possess skills in numerical methods for equations solving, integration of differential equations, function approximation and interpolation, optimisation, linear algebra problems. You have very good skills in classical mechanics, including kinematics and dynamics of point masses, dynamics of rigid bodies, dynamics expressed in noninertial reference frames, e.g. including dynamics in rotating frames, rotation dynamics expressed in body fixed frame, conservation laws in mechanics, gravitational forces and field, orbit dynamics, keplerian orbits and Kepler laws. You are able to solve mechanics problems via analytical mechanics methods e.g. lagrangian formulation. You have skills to apply above knowledge to develop solutions to technical problems in cooperation with customers and other experts. You are able to define, implement, validate and operate software which applies the above solutions, using C as main programming language knowledge of UnixLinux, scripting languages and Fortran 77952003 is a valuable an asset. You are willing to take operational responsibility in multidiscipline teams. You are fluent in English, both in speech and writing. You coordinate and interact with other service providers in operations and other fields. You are able to work independently. We are looking for a Mission Planning Operations Engineer Responsibility Performing routine, oncall, and contingency scheduling tasks using the mission planning facilities. Liaising with external entities in order to fulfill joint operations requirements and maintaining associated documentation. Responding to mission planning related anomalies and operational contingencies. Performing monitoring of the mission planning systems according to working practice, generally by running system checks to spot any system anomalies or errors.
