Please only apply if youre up for the challenge of a lifetime Main duties Design of mechanisms and deployment structuresdevices from concept stage through to detail design to enable analysis and manufacture Creation of piece part drawings 3D models to enable manufacture of components Write documentation for design definition, manufacturing, assembly and integration and detailed procedures through integration with MAIT teams Manage configuration of all designs control of BOM Support technical reviews with customers Provide technical support to manufacture and assembly activities Support business development team in preparing technical proposals for customers Skills and experience A minimum of HNC or equivalent in a relevant engineering subject Innovative thinking the ability to be given requirements and to create robust design solutions using own initiative and the ability to critique own ideas Very good understanding of using material properties to their advantage, correct use of tolerances, engineering drawing standards and manufacturing techniques High level of experience using CAD software packages for mechanical design preferably SolidWorks is essential Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software Handson practical experience preferably apprentice trained in mechanical engineering field would be a distinct advantage Demonstrate a common sense and logical approach to problem solving ability to find simple solutions to complex problems Experience of working within a regulated industry would be an advantage Aerospace, Nuclear, Medical Familiarity with ECSS standards would be an advantage The ability to quickly understand new technical concepts is essential Personal Due to the sensitive nature of projects, applicants must be eligible to gain SC clearance normally have been a UK resident for a minimum of 5 years, exceptions will be reviewed on individual merit Good interpersonal skills Excellent technical English writtenverbal communication and presentation skills Selfmotivated to meet objectives Ability to work both alone and in teams as required by the individual task Ability to work on several projects at any one time Driven by technical challenges, problem solving and practical implementation of new ideas Willingness to learn and share knowledge with other members of the team

Overview General tasks related to the role are Support ESA satellite projects in AIVAIT aspects, in particular environmental testing including follow up of industry activities. Support the Customers of the Test Centre through all project phases, taking into account project requirements and performance of facilities. Support Agency projects with respect to model philosophy definition, requirement specification, planning, costing, risk assessment, test execution and verification control. Support Agency project studies and reviews in the Concurrent Design Facility at ESTEC in the domain programmatics and AIVAIT. Participate in formal project reviews and tender evaluation boards, usually in the AIV panel. Participate in the development of new methods and tools, the preparation and implementation of investments. Note This position will require frequent travel. Specific qualification requirements University degree MSc. in Engineering with educational background in aerospace or mechanical engineering. Experience in satellite AIV. Experience in satellite environmental testing. Fluent in the English language spoken and written. Knowledge of another European language is an asset. Due to their rapid growth and in the light of current and coming projects on composite materials and metal assemblies for flight missions, the client is seeking to expand their Materials and Processes Development Team by four engineers. Consequently, we are searching for excellence with the following profile Job Profile As we are looking for 4 new engineers, this job profile is more generic. Being a Development Engineer, you are responsible for the execution of specific work packages in the frame of development projects on highend technical hardware. Maintaining the schedule and delivering according to the client specifications are our major goals. You will perform mechanical designs partly incl. CAD manufacturing drawings, engineering calculations hand calculations andor structural analysis, plan, coordinate evaluate manufacturing and characterization test campaigns and support project management activities. Reporting of the results is mostly required in form of Technical Notes. Our relations are international oriented therefore, occasional travelling is involved in this position, mainly in Europe.
