For our activities in EUMETSAT, we are currently looking for a Mission Control System Software Engineer. Tasks and Responsibilities The Mission Control System Software Engineer MCSE shall provide prime support to the evolution and maintenance of the EUMETSAT operational Mission Control Systems. The MCSE shall also perform engineering of the Mission Control Systems developed in the frame of new programmes. Requirements The key person should have the following background Experience in the software maintenance and evolution of Satellite Mission Control Systems based on MICONYS software suite from ESAESOC. In particular experience in all the following MICONYS components is considered mandatory SCOS2000, SLE API, FARC, PARC and NIS Experience in space related standards ECSS and CCSDS concerning spacetoground interfaces and applicable to Satellite Mission Control Systems such as ECSS Packet Utilisation Standard PUS, CCSDS Space Packet Protocol SPP and CCSDS Space Link Extension Protocol SLE. Developing and maintaining software applications using objectoriented technologies, Unified Modelling Language UML for software design and CASE design tools. Japan launched its second-generation asteroid explorer Hayabusa 2 Wednesday, kicking off the country's second mission to collect asteroid samples. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency announced the launch of Hayabusa 2, which separated from the rocket at 3.09 p.m. as scheduled, and entered the orbit successfully, according to Xinhua.
