ATSC 3.0 Physical Layer elevated to 'Candidate Standard'

The Advanced Television Systems Committee has announced that the 'Physical Layer' transmission system for ATSC 3.0 television broadcasting has been elevated to 'Candidate Standard' status. The ATSC TG3 Technology Group approved the ATSC 3.0 Physical Layer Candidate Standard.

Revised by American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE), ASAE S526.4, Soil and Water Terminology, contains preferred terms and definitions intended for use in technical journals, magazines, textbooks, and extension bulletins, as well as all other ASABE standards. Document was revised under leadership of ASABE's Natural Resources & Environmental Services technical community, and 900+ definitions in ASAE S526.4 have been added to AgGateway AgGlossary.

ANSI Accredited Committee revises standard for lamp ballasts.

ANSI Accredited Standards Committee C82 revised ANSI C82.6 American National Standard for Lamp Ballasts—Ballasts for High-Intensity Discharge Lamps—Methods of Measurement. Standard is updated to provide industry-wide consistency for products that have technological advantages of electronic ballasts and can be paired with existing low-frequency lamps. ANSI C82.6 also describes procedures to be followed and precautions to be taken in measuring performance of low-frequency ballasts for HID lamps.
