Our client, based near Frankfurt in Germany, is responsible for establishing and operating weather forecasting and Earth observation satellite programmes with associated data telemetry and dissemination operations. One of their objectives is to contribute to the operational monitoring of the climate and the detection of global climate changes. They are seeking engineering consultancy support for the EPSSG EUMETSAT Polar System Second Generation Programme. Support is required in the area of verification and validation of the system which is composed of a Space Segment and a Ground Segment. The focus of the work is related to the definition and implementation of the approach to be applied for radio frequency RF testing of the EPSSG spacetoground interfaces and the planning of related activities, with all needed logistics for the execution of related tests. An associated task is in the area of requirements specification and development of needed test tools, such as RF suitcases. The Consultant shall have the following mandatory skills and experience University degree in the domain of engineering, physics or equivalent. At least 3 years of handson involvement in RF testing of spacetoground interfaces at satellite andor ground station level. Familiarity with procurement, installation, use and maintenance of relevant test equipment, such as RF suitcases. Handson experience with the preparation of test documentation test plans, specifications, procedures and reports. Desirable experience includes Involvement in the preparation and execution of tests at remote sites. Involvement in RF design related to spacetoground interfaces at satellite andor ground station level. Expertise in Kaband link design or testing.
