Main responsibilities The tasks will be the following Operate on a 247 shift basis all or part of the mission control system, which includes parts of the ground segment as well as the space segment Assist in configuring and testing the operational system to support the operations In case of ground or space segment anomaly take corrective action as necessary, applying the contingency emergency procedures approved for the mission to ensure spacecraft safety and the continuity of service provision to users Participate in other operationsrelated activities small system development, procedures development or maintenance etc. upon request of the Team Leader. Ideal candidate The candidates should have a solid background in a technical or electronic environment, to the level of Senior Technician. A formal qualification to ONC or HNC would be advantageous. Ex service personnel should have completed a service College apprenticeship in electronics telecommunications, and possess a background in Avionics, Air Defence, Air Radar or Communications. Or the candidate should have a degree at least at BSc level in a related subject such as Aerospace Engineering, Telecommunications, Physics etc. Experience working with computer systems and PC literacy is required. Database knowledge would be useful. Candidates must be adaptable, selfdisciplined and able to work in a calm and correct manner under conditions of stress. We are currently looking for an EPS SG Ground Segment Integration and Validation Engineer to support our customer EUMETSAT in Darmstadt, Germany. EPS SG Ground Segment Integration and Validation Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities The holder of this post supports the Integration and Verification IV activities of the EPSSG Overall Ground Segment OGS Contribute to the production of all OGS IV documents during Phase C, and their implementation in Phase D Update and maintain the OGS IV related schedule in coordination with Project Control Coordinate the IV approach with the System team to ensure coherence and completeness of the EPSSG OGS and System level approaches Follow and assess the IVV approach of all contributing elements of the OGS and ensure compatibility with the overall OGS IV Plan Establish and maintain the verification control mechanisms Ensure accurate metrics on IV progress are maintained Ensure implementation of the OGS IV plan through lower level test documentation, processes, test execution and relevant OGS reviews Attend sub segment IVV tests as observer, witnessing tests where requirements are verified Identify and support the acquisition of all necessary Test Tools and Test Data Support validation activities managed by the EPSSG System Team Report on a weekly and monthly basis to GS Management. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree in engineering e.g. space or software engineering, or equivalent Extensive work experience in the field of engineering of space andor ground systems, in the area of Earth observation from space Involvement in the preparation andor execution of IV activities at Ground Segment level of such Systems Preparation of test plans, test specifications andor test procedures, prepared for IV of such Systems Experience of multilevel verification processes and implementation Familiarity with procurement and use of Test Tools and Test Data Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. Main responsibilities Your main tasks will be Daily reporting and analysing of routine operations Compiling inputs for regular reports System control procedure creation maintenance Analysing of facility anomalous behaviour Coordinating daily operational activities as the on call duty rota Interfacing with external agencies and user as required XTTC ESOC Conduct first level investigations on ground station anomalies Provide Controller training. Ideal candidate Requirements You should have a sound background in a scientific or technical discipline and must be familiar with ground station facilities relating to spacecraft operations. Previous experience of ground station analysis or operations is an advantage. Previous experience gained on the EPS project would be advantageous. Additionally, you should bring good PC skills, with a good knowledge of the following Word EPOCH 2000 EDL Excel and Access. Previous experience of ground station analysis or operations is an advantage. Experience in software coding scripting e.g. C and Python for Report development will be considered an asset.
