SK, Samsung achieve handover between mmWave 5G base stations

(Telecompaper) SK Telecom and Samsung Electronics have completed tests of handover between 5G base stations at 28GHz in the outdoor environment. With the successful field trial of the handover technology, SK Telecom and Samsung have now verified the performance of the 5G handover technology by connecting multiple millimeter wave base station systems to operator's fiber optics infrastructure.

Ajilon is a longstanding business partner of the European Space Agency ESA, with more than 100 employees recruited from across Europe currently supporting ESAs activities. General tasks to be performed The following work package description is provided by ESA, and represents a nonexhaustive list of activities typically performed within this specific work package. Not all tasks may be required to be performed within your specific role. Definition, simulation, specification and development of telecom, navigation and RF Remote Sensing Instruments and payloads. The related tasks include both RD activities in preparation of payload instrument concepts for future satellite missions and the technical support to ESA projects on the areas of telecom and navigation payloads and RF Remote Sensing instruments i.e. Radar, SAR, altimeters, radiometers, scatterometers. Specific activities The candidate will be assigned to the Payload Engineering Section TECETP in the RF Systems, Payload and Technology Division at ESTEC. Heshe will be participating in internal RD activities and support to projects in the domain of navigation payloads Galileo, EGNOS, GNSS evolutions and will be involved with internal research work on advanced payload concepts and on payload and signal performance computer simulation. Participation to the definition, specification, design, procurement and verification of the Navigation Payload System activities Participation to the segment and intersegment Project activities, and reviews covering the Navigation Payload System area Participation to Acceptance Reviews and contribution to the Industrial monitoring of Navigation Payload activities in critical areas Contribution to the Payload System Design Engineering activities in the area of Interface Engineering, Performance Assessments and Simulations, including support to InOrbit Testing to validate performances Acting as the Payload focal coordinator for the Payload System Performance engineering activities, including liaising with other Project segments Contribution to the early identification of problem areas and participate in their resolution in NonConformance, Anomaly and Engineering Boards, including regular reporting to the Payload Manager. To successfully perform the above mentioned tasks, the following background experience is required A Masters degree in telecommicrowaveRFElectromagnetics related studies At least 4 years of relevant industry experience A good knowledge of software tools Matlab, Simulink, ADS, C, C,etc are required. The candidate should have experience in the domain of navigation payload, including architecture tradeoffs and payload definition, specification and sizing as well as a good understanding of stateoftheart RF analogue and highspeed digital processing techniques and technologies. Also heshe shall have background and experience in computer simulation techniques applied to payload and signal analysis.
