US - Pork producers need accurate information on the energy value of fat in feed ingredients to ensure that diets are formulated economically and in a way that maximizes pork fat quality. Researchers at the University of Illinois have determined the true ileal and total tract digestibility of fat in four corn co-products, as well as in full fat soybeans and corn oil.

Gutierrez, Iowa State University Studies at Iowa State University (ISU) evaluated the best ways to characterize fiber from corn co-products in order to determine the site of digestion in the pig and better understand its potential contribution to energy. The trials also evaluated the impact of including fiber from corn on growth performance and on the digestion and utilization of energy and nutrients in the diet. read more
