Most yarn plants are still idled n China, as the return to full work has been delayed by a series of obstacles generated by the coronavirus crisis. Most downward weaving mills could remain shut until early March. Our weekly report covers China's fiber and yarn prices on cotton, polyester, and viscose markets. Domestic and Import yarn price indicators are released, as well as local market prices in Qianqing (Zhejiang), including a large number of counts for spun cotton, polyester, viscose, and blends. Recycled Polyester Prices in China (Monthly Report)

Recycled polyester prices are no more moving in China, in the absence of production and sales. The virus crisis confirms the fall of China's share on the global market for recycled polyester, already initiated by the ban on plastic waste imports two years ago. Our report covers the recycled polyester PSF and POY prices in China over the past three years. Re-PSF and Re-POY prices are compared with similar virgin fiber prices for PSF and POY prices. PTA and MEG prices have plunged in the last week, and could drop to even lower levels when sales resume in China. Inventory levels are surging, as fiber and textile production are still frozen, with workers finding it difficult to return to work, even when allowed to do so. Our weekly report covers the polyester chain in Asia, including PX (paraxylene), PTA (purified terephthalic acid), MEG (mono ethylene glycol), polyester chips, and polyester staple and filament prices.
