Our client is a space sector specialist based in Northern Ireland. On behalf of this Client we are recruiting a Supply Chain Manager. We are presently seeking experienced Supply Chain or procurement engineer from the space industry. This role is to be working on a 5 kW Thruster project for the space industry. This role is a long term contract position and is due to start early April with the option to be extended. This role also has the possibility to become permanent for the right candidate. This Role Understanding and daily application of. Monitoring data management to keep accurate product, contract, pricing and invoicing information. Working closely with suppliers and customers to improve operations and reduce cost. Communicating needs and objectives to managers with key personnel in procurement. Negotiating contracts to reduce costs and achieve maximum efficiency. Providing accurate routing information to ensure that delivery times and locations are coordinated. Accurately calculating total supply chain costs in relation to proposed new projects. Extensive knowledge of coordinating all of the entities involved in a supply chain. Knowledge of managing returns and rejections professionally and promptly with suppliers. Extensive experience in the strategic planning and transportation of products. Experience of liaising with forwarders and overseas companies to arrange collections. Able to negotiating rates with local contractors and also international companies. Planning of procurement, production, inventory control, logistics and distribution. Experience in Process improvement. Experience in operational logistics management and vendor management. Carrying out the initial and also ongoing assessment of the supply chain. Involved in the hiring, training, supervising and mentoring of supply chain staff. The Person Experience of developing and implementing supply chain strategies within the space industry and must have worked in the space sector for at least five years in supply chain management. Ability to work in cross functional teams. Managing recognised space industry supply chains. Ability to manage several projects and tasks at once. Good at organising and managing people. A clear ability to negotiate and influence at all levels.
