Spun yarn prices have continued to decline in the last week in India, due to a poor level in demand, especially from export markets. Below available July export data have confirmed the dramatic decline in cotton yarn sales to other countries. Our weekly review of Indian yarn prices covers the domestic and export markets, including carded and combed cotton, poly-cotton, poly-viscose, 100% polyester, and 100% viscose. Major yarn production centers are covered with Tirupur (Tamil Nadu), Bhiwandi (Maharashtra) and Ludhiana (Punjab). Yarn prices are compared with fiber prices, and offering the latest trends of spinners' margins.

China Yarn Prices: Domestic and Import Markets (Weekly Report)

Demand for spun yarns is improving in China, in line with favorable seasonal trends. Yarn prices are however declining, once again, due to a fall of fiber prices. Our weekly report covers the China yarn domestic and import market indicators, as well as local market prices in Qianqing (Zhejiang). PTA prices have continued to decline in Asia, over a drop of paraxylene prices in August. Such a fall of their material costs allows polyester producers to lower their offers while maintaining their operating rates at a high level. Our weekly report covers the polyester chain in Asia, including PX (paraxylene), PTA (purified terephthalic acid), MEG (mono ethylene glycol), polyester chips, and polyester staple and filament prices.
