Recycled Polyester Prices in China (Monthly Report)

Recycled polyester prices are now falling in China, in line with the decline of virgin polyester prices. Imports of foreign recycled fibers is also pressuring prices whereas PET bottle flakes are still lacking ahead of the peak season which will be triggered by hot temperatures of the coming months. Our report covers the recycled polyester PSF and POY prices in China over the past 3 years. Re-PSF and Re-POY prices are compared with similar virgin fiber prices for PSF and POY prices. Weekly prices as well as indices over 3-month and 3-year periods are available for download.

Polyester filament prices have heavily fallen in the past seven days in China, reflecting a weaker seasonal demand than usual from filament fabric producers. PSF prices have more resisted however, also confronted with a poor demand level from spinners. Our weekly report covers the Polyester Staple Fiber (PSF) on the domestic markets in China, India, and Pakistan. Polyester filament prices in China are also released, whereas the report includes a price comparison of polyester with cotton and viscose in China.

Paraxylene prices have suddenly plunged in the last week in Asia, over larger supplies and weaker demand. PTA producers could now lower their price offers on their turn, as polyester fiber prices are alredy declining this Monday in China.
