Textile production is recovering in Pakistan, whereas being again weak in India and China, by contrast. The polyester market remains depressed in China due to a weakness in demand from textile producers. Operating rates are kept at high levels, however, resulting in record inventories. Our weekly report covers the Polyester Staple Fibers (PSF) and the Polyester Filament Yarns (POY, DTY, FDY) in China, India, and Pakistan. The data are released on a weekly basis in local currency terms and in dollars. Comparison tables are also available. All data series can be downloaded.

The raw material costs of polyester fiber producers have stayed very firm in the last week in Asia, whatever the weakness of demand from textile producers in China. Operating rates are still at high levels, but could be slashed in the coming period.
