China's polyester activities are resuming after the coronavirus crisis has begun fading, however. Our monthly report compares polyester staple fiber prices and polyester spun yarn prices in China, India, and Pakistan, in both local currency terms and US$ terms. Polyester prices are slowly dropping in China, where producers are confronted with a sharp rise in their inventories, however refusing to significantly lower their offers. PSF prices have dropped further in Pakistan, whereas behaving differently in India. Our weekly report covers the Polyester Staple Fibers (PSF) on the domestic markets in China, India, and Pakistan. Polyester filament prices in China are also released, whereas the report includes a price comparison of polyester with cotton and viscose in China.

Polyester intermediate prices have stayed firm in the last week in Asia, where operating rates are being slashed, in the absence of significant demand from downward producers. Fiber and textile production are expected to slowly return to normal in China until the end of March. Our weekly report covers the polyester chain in Asia, including PX (paraxylene), PTA (purified terephthalic acid), MEG (mono ethylene glycol), polyester chips, and polyester staple and filament prices.
