A fantastic opportunity has arisen for procurement professionals with an engineering or scientific background to be part of a new and exciting satellite data processing project at Europes prestigious Meteorological Satellite Agency. The procurement phase of the EUMETSAT Polar System Second Generation EPSSG satellite programme is shortly to commence and we have openings for candidates who are keen to play a leading role in the procurement of the data processors and product generation functions. Candidates shall have experience in the specification, design, implementation, integration and test, verification and validation of payload data ground processing preferably in the field of Meteorology andor Earth Observationremote sensing. Experience in general procurement activities such as interfacing with industrial contractors and production of Statement of Work documents is required, preferably within the field of payload data ground processing. Applicants will also have experience in near real time, highly available, multiinstruments related ground data processing systems along with experience working in a formal environment following methodologies, standards and processes such as configuration control. All candidates require a University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline or comparable qualifications in an operational Data Processing field. The working language for this position is English, therefore candidates must be fluent in this language, both spoken and written. A working knowledge of French would be advantageous. MTG Operational Processors Procurement Support Engineer TASKS The consultant will be integrated into the Data Processing Team of the MTG Ground Segment.
