CGI is looking for a Senior Technical Architect to lead software system development projects within the satellite communications business in CGI. Software systems could include offline planning tools online provisioning and fault management systems specialised network components and gateways end user applications supporting using satellite communications. Responsibilities Act as overall technical authority for the development and integration of software systems supporting satellite communications services. Responsible for eliciting and defining systems requirements, creating software architecture and design, monitoring development progress and providing domain expertise and software development guidance to project teams. Take a lead technical role in the bidding process for IT systems being procured by satellite operators or service providers. Act as a subject matter expert on satellite communications within the practice and to other projects, e.g. feasibility studies. You should have University degree or equivalent qualification in engineering, physical sciences or mathematics. Significant experience in a lead technical role designing, developing and integrating operational software systems for the general telecommunications or preferably satellite communications marketplace. Proven ability to work with stakeholders to formulate and agree systems requirements, and advise satcoms customers on systems design. Good understanding of satellite communications engineering principles, e.g. telecoms services delivered by satellite satellite communications architectures functionality of subsystems comprising the ground, satellite, user and management segments system tradeoffslink budgets etc. Personal attributes should include Able to work in an environment where requirements change often and quickly. Ability to assimilate new information rapidly and derive suitable courses of action. Good commercial acumen and business awareness. Selfmotivated and able to tackle technical assignments and problem solving without support from others. Strong analytical skills. Strong written and presentation skills. The scope of work and tasks to be performed are Daytoday support to Unit personnel regarding business travel arrangements, leave management, coordination of training. Dealing with incoming telephone calls and information requests. Analysing incoming correspondence and documentation and managing distribution of outgoing correspondence and documentation. Provision of various logistic support to the Unit. Arrivals office, phone, computer, security, access to databases, information systems and departures deregistration, etc. of Unit personnel. Ordering of office supplies and maintenance of stationery. Room and resources bookings for meetings andor events falling under the responsibility of the Unit. Administration and handling of shipment of goods and express mail. Tasks related to documentation management, distributionregistration of mail and documents. Organisation of agenda and of meetings. Maintaining documents libraries for the Unit, including maintenance of change log, distribution lists, issue information notes to concerned users.
