Senior Project Manager

For one of our customers in the Netherlands, active in the aerospace and high precision industry, we are currently looking for a Senior Project Manager. Our client is a leading edge RD company focussed on the development of prototypes and optical specials. These activities are all nonrecurring and for this reason our client is a major contributor of technological innovation in the Netherlands. At this moment the OptoMechatronics department is involved in several large projects in different stages. Some are in the still in the acquisition stage and others are already in developing stage. The average project turnover is between 6 10 million Euro 50 70 fte. To lead one of these projects we are looking for an experienced and seasoned Project Manager. In this role you will be responsible for the whole life cycle of a large project and for its project team, starting with the project acquisition phase. Setting up the project organisation, timely realization and client management is of the utmost importance and is the focus and responsibility of the Senior Project manager. The Senior Project Manager reports to the Business Line Manager. Tasks and Responsibilities Directly responsible for tender management, resource planning, project definition and budgeting Perform contract negotiations in association with the HR and legal department Proactive communication with clients, suppliers and other stakeholders Manage customer requirements in line with the contractually agreed objectives in the field of deliveries and quality and risk management Lead the project team multidisciplinary Motivate and inspire your team members On time and within budget delivery Analyse and improve project performance in line with the product and business objectives Directly responsible for a high quality performance of the projects. Experience and education You have a technical Master degree You have a minimum of 10 years of experience managing research development projects You have a good insight and knowledge of business processes w.r.t. preparation, planning, organization and quality You have experience with acquisition and tender management You have a proactive, problem solving and resultsoriented attitude and are capable of managing, motivating and coaching a group of specialists You have a customeroriented attitude and you will be able to translate complex customer requirements into concrete plans You are familiar with engineering techniques and commonly used materials, tools and production methods You have affinity with optical precision equipment You are organisation sensitive and demonstrate understanding of the interests and political forces within and outside the organization You are fluent in English and preferably Dutch and have excellent communication, reporting and presentation skills. You have the willingness to travel

Strategic Management Position Staff Context You will be responsible for contributing to the planning and development of the satellite fleet and will play an active role in supporting the maintenance of the fleet plan, determining and prioritizing future satellite procurements and assisting the VP and Senior Managers of Fleet Development in defining the requirements for future satellite procurements. Responsibilities Maintaining the SES Fleet Plan, and delivering maximum enterprise value and return on investment consistent with strategic goals and financial objectives Assist in the development of future satellite procurement plans, including the development of commercial requirement documents, overseeing the conduct of marketbased and technical analyses and related forecasting parameters by subject matter experts as well as developing business cases for future satellite deployments or transfers Analyzing fleet health and development as it pertains to the current and future fleet strategy, assessing alternatives for the redeployment of existing assets, and ensuring the preparation of launch and inorbit failure mitigation plans by the managers andor subject matter experts Identifying expansion opportunities at existing orbital slots and locations, developing locations and bands for new orbital slots, and assigning related tasks to the relevant professionals and subject matter experts. Experience Qualifications Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering or Business Economics, or equivalent education or demonstrable equivalent work experience in lieu of formal qualifications Minimum of 3 years of professional experience, preferably with 2 or more years in the satellite or telecommunications field Working experience in a satellite manufacturer is considered an additional asset Knowledge of Satellite payload systemsand link budgets is preferred Fluency in English the knowledge of other languages is also considered an additional asset Ability to work well in a multicultural, international environment. Willingness to travel Excellent analytical skills, innovative spirit, business mind, result orientation, ability to provide practical conclusions Effective project time management Demonstration of the ability to be a team player, take initiative, be flexible and take leadership Outstanding human relations, interpersonal and communications skills at all levels both internally and externally Ability to self organize, prioritize and handle multiple timesensitive tasks in a demanding environment Possess a proactive and can do attitude. Ability to compile comprehensive and synthetic reports as required. Excellent verbal and written skills.
