The successful applicant will join the Functional Validation, Engineering Ops Products, Space Physics Fr department. You will be in charge of developing and establishing the electric propulsion model database for a new electric propulsion system, and you will lead the engineering activities related to the electric propulsion design validation analyses and the system interaction analyses for a new Telecom satellite application. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include being the referent within the project electric propulsion team for all topics related to modelling Thruster Plume models, Erosioncontamination models, Plasma interactions models, etc., leading all the activities needed to establish the model database and to perform the necessary analyses In cooperationcoordination with the projectsexperts, specifying, following up on and managing the thruster Plume characterisation tests for the selected thrusters with the goal of establishing the plume models needed for interaction analyses plasma plume, EMCEMI, etc. Being responsible for the postprocessing activities of these different tests and establishing the model database using specific plasma modelling software such as SPIS, Systema, etc. Developing the performance models for the electric propulsion subsystem Supporting the activities related to spacecraftplasma interaction analyses erosion, contamination, RF impacts, charging, etc. and mastering the different analysis software SPIS, Systema, etc., working in collaboration with the Electric Propulsion and System architects and supporting the propulsion chain design analyses performances and justification files and the qualification status versus the satellite projectCustomer requirements Participating with the different satellite project reviews Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review, Test Readiness Review, Test Review Board Interfacing with other architects in various areas mechanical, thermal, electrical, functional, software, avionics, etc. and with the validation, AIT and operations departments Supporting the RDRT activities internally or for space agencies for aspects related to thruster plasma plume interactions. This role will involve some travel for business once or twice a month mainly in Europe and as such you must be able to travel accordingly. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Educated to an Engineering degree level or equivalent, 10 years of experience in modelsoftware development with demonstrated experience in plasma physics development, ideally for space projects, Knowledge of plasma modelling software like SPIS, Initial experience in project management, Ability to interface with different technical areas e.g. mechanicalthermalelectricalfunctionalenvironmental, etc., Autonomous approach and leadership skills, Meticulous, flexible, good communication skills and the ability to summarise Ability to work within a team environment, Ability to lead, coordinate and manage a team within a project organisation, Advanced level of English and intermediate level of French. Electric Propulsion Engineer

Mars Space is currently looking to hire two Electric Propulsion Engineers to support its ongoing electric propulsion development activities. The engineer will be responsible for the design, modelling and testing of electric propulsion technologies and especially gridded ion engines and hollow cathodes. Specifically the following tasks are required Modelling of the plasma produced by ion engines and hollow cathodes Structural and thermal modelling of these devices Definition and execution of tests aimed at validating the models Design of thruster prototypes Testing of the thruster and evaluation of the experimental results Applicants require a University degree of Bachelor, Master or equivalent in Aerospace Engineering or experimental Physics. The ideal candidate has A PhD in Aerospace engineering and at least one year experience working with electric propulsion or an MSc in Aerospace engineering at least 2 years experience with electric propulsion Knowledge of plasma physics. Familiarity with vacuum systems Good technical judgement and excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. The salarty for this job will be negotiable depending on qualifications and experience of the candidate.
