Job Description For one of our main clients, ESAESTEC, we are currently recruiting an Electric and Advanced Propulsion Engineer for their location in Noordwijk, the Netherlands, to join their Electric Propulsion Section. Electric Propulsion Engineer

Mars Space is currently looking to hire Electric Propulsion Engineers to support its ongoing electric propulsion development activities. The engineer will be responsible for the design, modelling and testing of electric propulsion technologies and especially gridded ion engines and hollow cathodes. Specifically the following tasks are required Modelling of the plasma produced by ion engines and hollow cathodes Structural and thermal modelling of these devices Definition and execution of tests aimed at validating the models Design of thruster prototypes Testing of the thruster and evaluation of the experimental results Applicants require a University degree of Bachelor, Master or equivalent in Aerospace Engineering or experimental Physics. The ideal candidate has A PhD in Aerospace engineering and at least one year experience working with electric propulsion or an MSc in Aerospace engineering at least 2 years experience with electric propulsion Knowledge of plasma physics. Familiarity with vacuum systems Good technical judgement and excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. The salarty for this job will be negotiable depending on qualifications and experience of the candidate. We are looking for candiadtes able to start in less than two months but we might be able to wait slightly longer for very good candidates.
