Senior Engineer, Maritime Systems United States Manassas, Virginia ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY The Senior Engineer, Maritime Systems provides technical leadership and expertise in the area of satellite terminal development for SES Networks Maritime and Energy market customers. The Sr Systems Engineer shall work closely with product development, multidiscipline engineering teams, and operations teams to continuously add new features and capabilities to these terminals. This role will be at the forefront of innovating how SES provides an unmatched customer experience.. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES KEY RESULT AREAS Provide technical leadership to subcontractors and vendors developing SES Networks compatible maritime antennas, RF components, baseband, Monitoring Control, and network equipment Provide technical leadership as the antennaRF Subject Matter Expert SME in a multidiciplined team to ensure timely product delivery Perform System Engineering design and analyses in support of the SES Maritime terminals and baseband systems development and implementation Develop and validate maritime terminal implementation, integration, and certification processes Lead development, deployment and performance optimization of advanced maritime terminal capabilities including antennas, modems and RF components Develop and support integration and testing methods and procedures for the Maritime Terminals at the component, subsystem, and system levels Provide System Engineering leadership in the deployment of Maritime terminals and systems at Customer facilities located worldwide Support the maritime team by developing and documenting requirements, specifications, interfaces, test plans Develop and support the Operations, Maintenance and Sustainment programs Develop forwardlooking architectures and designs that support implementation of evolving SES products and capabilities COMPETENCIES Excellent written and oral communication skills, in English Effective communication and presentation skills in working with both technical and nontechnical support staff Ability to provide accurate information to vendors and other colleagues in a timely manner Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects, with welldeveloped organizational skills Highly focused attention to details Demonstrated performance as a reliable team player Selfstarter with a high level of personal accountability QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE At least 10 years of experience in developing andor maintaining Maritime SATCOM systems, terminals and satellitebased networking data systems KaBand systems experience a plus At least 8 years of experience in the development or application of VSAT baseband equipment Experience in development and deployment of maritime SATCOM networks At least 5 years of operational experience in remote baseband, IF, RF, antennas, and WANLAN equipment BS in Computer Science andor Engineering, or equivalent experience InDepth knowledge of Telecommunications Satellite Systems including VSAT systems Expert working knowledge of Maritime SATCOM Baseband, Network Management, and Modem systems equipment Highly experienced in developing and maintaining high availability satellite or telecommunications systems using manned and unmanned facilities Complete understanding of GEO, MEO, and LEO telecommunications satellite technologies and systems Experience in development of monitoring and control systems related to Maritime terminals Thorough understanding of and ability to use System Engineering processes SES is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer Whats in it for you?
