A broad area of low pressure is producing widespread showers and thunderstorms several hundred miles south-southeast of Acapulco, Mexico. Environmental conditions are forecast to be conducive for development over the next several days, and a tropical depression is expected to form over the weekend, well south of the coast of Mexico. * Formation chance through 48 hours...medium...60 percent. * Formation chance through 5 days...high...90 percent. A tropical wave is forecast to move over the far eastern Pacific by Saturday. A broad area of low pressure has formed several hundred miles to the south-southeast of Acapulco, Mexico, and the associated shower and thunderstorm activity is beginning to show some signs of organization. Environmental conditions are forecast to be conducive for further development over the next several days, and a tropical depression is expected to form well south of the coast of Mexico on Saturday or Sunday. * Formation chance through 48 hours...medium...60 percent. * Formation chance through 5 days...high...90 percent.
