The Champagne industry prides itself on being at the forefront of the climate change battle, producing in 2001 wine's first report on the effects a warming planet will have on growing and production. This week, Champagne's overseer, the Comité Champagne (CIVC), released its latest sustainability report, revealing that climate change is no longer a prospect on the horizon but is already having an effect on how Champagne is made. Earlier this week, just-drinks sat down with CIVC director of communications Thibaut Le Mailloux to talk about the threat of climate change and what needs to be done to protect Champagne.

ARK Multicasting broadcasts both ATSC 1.0 and ATSC 3.0 from the same equipment stack

ARK Multicasting has announced the first broadcast of both ATSC 1.0 and NEXTGEN TV ATSC 3.0 from the same equipment stack. An ATSC 1.0 signal was tested with a Hitachi-Comark transmitter and Ateme encoder. Using the same transmission equipment with the addition of an ATSC 3.0 stack by ENENSYS, the signal was converted to NEXTGEN TV.

KPN successfully tests 5G network between Rotterdam and the Hague

(Telecompaper) KPN said it has successfully tested its 5G network between different locations in the Netherlands. The company made phone and video calls and held data sessions between its 5G FieldLab in the Port of Rotterdam and its Technology Lab in The Hague, using the 3.5 GHz spectrum band. The tests were made using a number of 5G smartphones, namely the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G, the Huawei Mate 20 X and an Oppo Reno 5G. A 10 GBps transmission network was used for the connection and a download speed of 1.3 Gbps was achieved with one of the smartphones.
