(Telecompaper) Indian operator Airtel has agreed to sell USD 1.25 billion in new shares in its African business to major investors, ahead of an IPO of the operations. Six global investors, including Warburg Pincus, Temasek, Singtel and SoftBank, have agreed to buy the shares, valuing the company at USD 4.4 billion.

PCCW OTT secures USD 110 mln in funding from Hony, Foxconn, Temasek

(Telecompaper) PCCW Media has announced that its unit PCCW International OTT has attracted funding from Hony Capital, Foxconn Ventures and Temasek. The three new investors will own around 18 percent of the enlarged issued share capital of PCCW OTT for a total consideration of USD 110 million. PCCW Media will remain the controlling shareholder of PCCW OTT.

Singtel buys Temasek shares in AIS, Airtel for SGD 2.5 bln

(Telecompaper) Singtel has agreed to raise its stakes in Thailand operator AIS and India's Bharti Airtel. The company will buy Singapore investment company Temasek's 21 percent pf Intouch Holdings, the largest shareholder in AIS, and 7.39 percent of Bharti Telecom, the holding company for Airtel, for a total consideration of SGD 2.47 billion cash. Singtel said it will fund the deal with internal cash, short-term debt and proceeds from the sale of 386 million new Singtel shares to Temasek. The transaction is subject to regulatory and minority shareholder approvals and is expected to be completed by December.
