Responsibilities Duties The Analyst will be required to support the Spacecraft Operations Managers SOMs as a member of the Flight Control Teams FCTs during prelaunch ground segment development and validation and post launch nominal and contingency operations. Within the Flight Control Team, he will coordinate his work with the existing Sentinels Analyst and will have to coordinate his tasks with the other SCOS 2000 based Earth Observation missions. This includes the following tasks. Responsibility of the organisation, training and operational readiness of the controllers assigned to the mission Setup of SC and operational data bases, including verification of database contents against satellite documentation Implement tools needed to manipulate the databases as required Updating the data bases and performing maintenance of the data bases applying strict configuration control procedures Conversion of industry provided databases into formats needed by the mission control system and operational tools Applying configuration control procedures for documentation in use for all operational tasks and duties under hisher supervision Preparation of data base documentation Responsibility for the transmission and tracking of operational instructions to the Spacecraft Controller team and ensuring their compliance At a later stage, supervision of routine operations and any others authorised by the SOM, following established rules and procedures. In case of ground or space segment anomaly providing first level contingency recovery support. Participating in the LEOP Launch and early orbit phase operations with regard to any database updates Introduction and maintenance of appropriate working practises and procedures for routine and problem reporting, data analysis, recording and maintenance of system status, recording of operational activities. Analysis as required of system problems by collection and evaluation of appropriate data sets using the reporting and analysis tools available Collect information data regarding the execution of the mission and provide inputs for the various mission reports Support data archiving and mission run down activities. In order to discharge his responsibilities the Analyst is required to become familiar with the mission and the control facilities placed at hisher disposal. The Analyst may be required to develop and install suitable tools to allow the efficient execution of the operational tasks. HeShe may be required to analyse the system operations and to prepare procedures, and will be involved in the validation and testing of both the control system and the operational procedures. The Analyst will take part in prelaunch test campaigns and simulations, and arrange for the participation of the controllers. HeShe will conduct regular post launch operational readiness training and simulations with controllers proficiency training. Qualifications Experience Background in the field of satellite andor ground segment operations operations preparation A degree in engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics, or equivalent is beneficial Essential Skills Good experience with office automation tools, including MSEXCEL and MSACCESS use of functions, queries, macros, reports, input forms, etc. Programming with Visual Basic andor SQL Good command of the English language Good communication and mediation skills High degree of reliability and autonomy Desirable Skills Basic knowledge of ORACLE Knowledge of spacecraft control systems such as SCOS 2000 Programming skills Knowledge of spacecraft control systems such as SCOS 2000 Knowledge of Packet Utilisation Standard. Initially this position will be working on Sentinel1, Sentinel2 and Sentinel3 missions with the prime Analyst. Additionally, support to the preparation or operations of other missions delegated to the Division may be required as requested by the Head of Division or Spacecraft Operations Manager. Job Requirements Applicants should have a good knowledge of ESOC Ground Segment Operations and ESOC Ground Segment Components. Good experience with MSACCESS is also required, as well as some experience with office tools, such as MSEXCEL, Visual Basic, ORACLE and SQL. Tasks The Sentinel3 satellite will complete the integration of the platform and the instruments and will undergo the environmental test campaign in Cannes France. In order to get timely delivery of a fully verified and compliant system, ESA intends to work in close relation with the industrial Prime Contractor to efficiently followup the AIT process. Improved visibility shall allow early risk identification and mitigation and shorter decision loops. A Spanish leader company in Aerospace Engineering and Scientific services with more than 45 years of experience working for NASA and 35 years working for ESA seeks a candidate for a postion of GMES Sentinel3 Liaison AIT Engineer located at ESTEC Netherlands. The Sentinel3 satellite will complete the integration of the platform and the instruments and will undergo the environmental test campaign in Cannes France. In order to get timely delivery of a fully verified and compliant system, ESA intends to work in close relation with the industrial Prime Contractor to efficiently followup the AIT process. Improved visibility shall allow early risk identification and mitigation and shorter decision loops. As of April 1st 2013, ESA is looking for a Liaison AIT Engineer for a period of two years covering the completion of the A and B satellites AIT. Extension of the period could be considered at a later stage, depending on programme schedule. The duties require onsite presence at the Prime Contractor premises Cannes France most of the week in the ESA liaison office, in meetings or in the clean room. Travel and accommodation arrangements should be jointly agreed on the basis of a fixed yearly budget.
