Tasks and Responsibilities Support in system integration of satellites, satellite subsystems and components in the work area Mechanical Integration Integration of thermal hardware onto various satellite or spacecraft components according to drawings and procedures, this includes but is not limited to bonding activities as well as previous preparations Perform mechanical integration of satellite subsystems using integration and test procedures Preparation and execution of qualification and acceptance tests in the area of mechanical and thermal verification of satellite or space components Support in the preparation of integration and test procedures as well as the provision of the required drawing documents Preparation of integration and test protocols Support in work preparation and inventory management Operation of mechanical ground support equipment Implementation applicable work rules and maintaining resume cards Participation in test and satellite integration campaigns at home and abroad. Requirements Technical education as technician business administrator At least 3 years of experience in aerospace Detaled knowledge of MSOffice German at least business fluent English at least advanced Experience in the following areas is desirable Satellite integration Integration of optical instruments Metrology mechanicalelectrical Experience in space environment with focus on quality Activities in clean room ISO5. Profound technical knowledge in the following areas is desirable Preparation and execution of mechanical and thermal environmental tests Preparation and execution of functional tests on component and system level Bonding technology in the aerospace industry. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience Mechanical technician, with experience in working for Space Business or related matters 3 years of experience Knowledge of the general rules for working in a clean room and for getting in contact with technological items of high level Knowledge of typical operations around a satellite principles of mechanics Teamwork capability Good relationship capabilities in relationship to the customer Understanding of issues, identify root causes, define solutions Good reporting to the line manager Work mainly with procedures and under a severe quality control Flexibility in work organization Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. Summary An opportunity for a Thermal and Mechanical Technician to work onsite at ESTEC for Telespazio VEGA UK. This is a fixedterm one year position. Objective To support defined ESA projects with the experimental verification and environmental testing of small scale space equipment in the Mechanical Systems Laboratory. Responsibilities Duties Duties will include but are not limited to Support ESA projects and external customers in the domain of thermal and mechanical experimental verification and environmental testing of small scale space equipment in facilities of the Mechanical Systems Laboratory MSL. Heshe will be involved in all activities related to preparation, execution, and evaluation and reporting under the direct supervision of the Head of the Laboratory. Support the development and the maintenance of the laboratory infrastructure. Ensure compliance with ISO 17025 for operational work and shall support the definition and maintenance of working maintenance procedures for the laboratory facilities. Make regular progress reports. Provide adequate documentation, covering all above tasks. Qualifications Experience At least Technical Degree B.Sc. Diploma or equivalent in a relevant physical science or engineering subject. Demonstrated background in environmental testing and thermal verification. Proven experience in the area of testing with evidence of work in a laboratory and within a team of engineers and technicians. Good knowledge of ISO 17025 quality systems. Proven experience in the area of laboratory maintenance calibration data acquisition. Experience of cryogenics is an asset.
