This activity includes the technical coordination of the production by an external contractor of new releases or patches of the application software, liaison with the EUMETSAT operational users, participation to technical reviews, participation to infactory at contractor premises acceptance testing campaigns and coordination of the installation of the releases or patches onsite at EUMETSAT. o Execution and coordination of software verification and nonregression testing campaigns. This activity includes preparation of test data, running the test procedures on the target system, generation of test reports, analysis of results and troubleshooting of problems. User Support o Software support software support to the endusers of the application software. o Ensure operations continuity by provision of oncall services and software support to operations. o Training prepare and provide training covering usage and maintenance aspects of the application software. Technical Management o Documentation generation and updates of technical documents. o Meeting participation participation to technical, progress and team meetings as needed and requested. o Routine reporting preparation and production of routine reports as necessary. o Technical point of contact for maintenance contractors acting as point of contact with the contractor for technical discussions, review of technical documentation from the contractor, organizing periodical technical meetings with the contractor. Experience and education In addition to having a University degree in a relevant engineering discipline you must have skills and experience in software maintenance, evolution and testing with the following mandatory areas Domain Skills o Extensive experience minimum 5 years in software maintenance and evolution of Satellite Mission Control Systems based on MICONYS software suite from ESAESOC. In particular experience in all the following MICONYS components is considered mandatory SCOS2000, SLE API, FARC, PARC and NIS. o Knowledge and understanding with actual working experience of space related standards ECSS and CCSDS concerning spacetoground interfaces and applicable to Satellite Mission Control Systems such as ECSS Packet Utilisation Standard PUS, CCSDS Space Packet Protocol SPP and CCSDS Space Link Extension Protocol SLE. Software Development Maintenance Skills o Extensive experience minimum 5 years in the full cycle of development of application software, preferably for Satellite Mission Control Systems, following formal software engineering processes. This includes user and system requirement analysis, software requirement engineering, software design and implementation reflecting maintenance activities as well as new applications definition. o Experience minimum 3 years in corrective maintenance, integration and verification testing activities of application software for Satellite Mission Control Systems following formal software engineering processes. This includes requirement verification, generation of test plan and test procedures, nonregression testing, generation of test data, generation of test tools, running the test procedures on the target system, generation of test reports and anomaly tracking, investigation, correction and testing. o Experience in being the technical point of contact for contractors working at offsite premises and responsible for application software evolution and maintenance.In addition to having a university degree or equivalent, the key person shall have at least 5 years experience of assessing and administrating computer systems and be very experienced in IT system design. The experience shall have been made in an operational or production environment, driven by high availability requirements. Software Engineering Skills o Extensive experience minimum 5 years in developing and maintaining software applications using Java and C programming languages under UNIX operating systems. o Experience minimum 3 years in developing and maintaining software applications using objectoriented technologies, Unified Modelling Language UML for software design and CASE design tools. It would be a distinct advantage if you had knowledge andor experience with some of the following Domain Skills o Experience with the following list of MICONYS components DABYS, EDDS, GFTS, MATIS, SFT and SMF. o Experience with Mission Control Systems for LEO spacecraft. o Knowledge of Flight Dynamics Systems. o Knowledge of Mission Planning Systems. o Experience with Satellite Simulators. o Experience with software support to operations for Satellite Mission Control Systems. Software Technology Skills o IBM DOORS requirement management tool. o Experience in version Control Systems CVS and SVN. o Linux Operating System. o Experience in developing and maintaining software applications using ODBCJDBC bridges and programmatic interfaces to MySQL RDBMS. o Data model design for RDBMS. o Administration of MySQL RDBMS. o Interprocess communication mechanisms, in particular TCPIP and CORBA standards. o XML processing schema design, validation, parser libraries, transformation XSLT and XPath. o Eclipse Rich Client Platform applications development and maintenance. o Experience using tools for the automation of software testing. o Experience with static and dynamic software analysis tools in support to testing and troubleshooting.
