Maintenance Team Leader

Position Reference 135 This position is based in Network Operations Centre NOC, responsible for the provision of ESA Ground Facilities Operations Services, which includes the monitoring and control of ESAs Tracking Station Network ESTRACK as well as the underlying Mission Operations Infrastructure Information Technology MOIIT and Operations Control Centres OCC. The hardware maintenance team looks after the operational IT hardware, the local data centres and wiring centres as well as the operational control rooms on site. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Lead the Operational ITcontrol room maintenance team Supervise and coordinate the activities of the team Hardware installations Hardware maintenance and support Mechanical integration Electrical safety testing Cable installation, testing and patching Spare part management Shipping and handling of equipment deliveries Configuration management Testing Preventive maintenance Control room refurbishment. Maintain procedures and documentation Reporting Incident handling Support of LEOP launch and early orbit activities including occasional shift work Support the management of the operational services Providing training for junior team members Act as an interface to the customer Project management for refurbishment projectengineering activities. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory Solid background in IToperational support and experience in leading a support team in a critical 247 environment. Solid experience with project management, Prince2 or PMP certification preferred Excellent knowledge of common data centre infrastructures, including wiring concepts, cooling and power distribution Fluent in English, both in speech and writing Selfstarter, able to work independently with little or no supervision Proactive and confident personality with good persuasive skills Teamplayer, able to interface with technical and management personnel Wellorganised, able to prioritise and manage several tasks in parallel Able to work on shifts occasionally Solid IT knowledge, including common hardware, networking concepts and common tools and software applications Service mentality and solid understanding of a KPI driven service environment Able to write and present documentation, procedures and training materialpresentations Experience in coordination and supervision of teams PC literacy MS Office Products, Lotus Notes. You have at least 3 years experience of contract management or project management Experience with Hardware configuration preferably for hosting sites You know how to manage assets obsolescence, procurement, alerts, etc You have great communication skills relevant for an international environment Experience in writing Technical notes At least level C1 in English understanding, writing and speaking.
