Structural Mechanics Analyst

The Bremen office of our client is the industrial centre of excellence for human spaceflight, launchers and space robotics in Europe. Key projects here are contributions towards the International Space Station ISS, the development of rocket stages and in the area of robotics the gentle and safe landing of spacecraft. The jobholder of the position Structural Mechanics Analyst will work within the Mechanical Engineering department on the support of these projects and furthermore for the following tasks Tasks and Responsibilities Performance of structural predimensioning and concept definition in close link with the Mechanical Design team Detailed stress analyses of primary and secondary structures as well as of components applying FiniteElementMethod FEM Performance of mechanical interface verifications Verification of mechanical systems and mechanisms. Requirements A university degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or comparable At least 3 years of experience with structuralmechanical engineering, in particular in the fields of lightweight structures and FEM Experience with Pre Postprocessing HYPERWORKS, PATRAN Experience with Linear Nonlinear stress and stability analyses NASTRAN Sound knowledge of NASTRANPATRAN Basic knowledge of Catia V5 Knowledge of Mechanical interface verifications e.g. VDI 2230 Knowledge of Predimensioning FEM and handbook methods First experience in materials selection and properties Fluency in English, both verbal and in writing German language skills are an advantage. Stress Engineer Structural Mechanics Key Tasks and Responsibilities As Stress Engineer Structural Mechanics for our customer who develops communication solutions to establish dynamic communication networks in air and in space, you will have the following responsibilities Conceptual analysis and development of optomechanical components Optimization of existing systems Static as well as dynamic simulation e.g. random vibrations and evaluation of components and assemblies using analytical and numerical methods CADmodeling and simplification for simulation Documentation and reconditioning of calculation results Interdisciplinary cooperation with internal and external partners.
